Product Description
Product name: Pigment Red 146
Alternate Names: C.I.Pigment Red 146, Red P.R.146, pr146 pigment
C.I. Pigment Red 146 is translucent, has a density of 1.5 g/cm³, a neutral pH of 7.0, and a molecular weight of 611.04. Its performance significantly outperforms that of Pigment Red 57:1, with lightfastness levels of 5 (printing inks) to 8 (rigid PVC), heat resistance of 200°C/10 minutes, steam resistance, and excellent compatibility with aqueous systems. With a specific surface area of 36 m²/g and a slightly yellower color than Pigment Red 57:1, it is suitable for demanding transparent and opaque systems.

C.I. Pigment Red 146 is primarily used in aqueous systems (packaging gravure/flexographic inks, architectural latex paints, decorative coatings) and textile printing (lightfastness level 7). It is a high-performance alternative to Pigment Red 57:1.
In the ink field, PR146 pigment red is suitable for offset printing, UV, PA/PP/NC inks.
In the coating field, red146 can be used for industrial coatings and wood coloring (combined with molybdenum chrome orange to make opaque red, or with pigment yellow 83/carbon black to make brown).
In the plastic field, it is especially recommended for PVC/plasticized PVC (migration resistance), solvent-based coatings and rigid PVC products with high weather resistance requirements.
