Pigment Red 242 Performance Characteristics
Organic pigment Red 242 is yellow shade red with bright color, excellent solvent resistance and excellent acid and alkali resistance.
Bright color: PR242 presents yellowish red hue with high color saturation;
High color fastness: Pigment red 242 has excellent light resistance, heat resistance, and solvent resistance;

Pigment Red 242 Application Areas
Organic pigment Red 242 is especially recommended for coloring PVC, PS, ABS and various polyolefin plastics. In HDPE, its heat resistance temperature is as high as 300°C (1/3 standard depth), but it may have a certain impact on the dimensional stability of the product. Red 242 is suitable for polypropylene pulp coloring, and shows excellent anti-migration performance in soft PVC, with moderate tinting strength.
In addition, it is also widely used in various coating systems, especially automotive coatings and varnish-resistant coatings, with a heat resistance of 180°C. This pigment is also suitable for high-end printing inks, such as PVC film printing, metal decorative inks and coloring applications of laminated plastic films.
Plastic coloring: Red PR242 is widely used in the coloring of various thermoplastics such as PVC, PS, ABS, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, PET, PC, PMMA, POM, etc., suitable for molding processes such as injection molding, extrusion and blow molding.
Coatings industry: suitable for automotive OEM coatings, coil coatings, powder coatings, architectural coatings and industrial coatings, which can meet the color requirements of mid-to-high-end coating systems.
